Rings
The reliable method is an existing ring that already fits: measure the inside diameter in millimetres and match it below. Measuring a finger with string overstates size more often than not.

Fingers swell in heat and late in the day. If you are between sizes, take the larger one.
Chains and necklaces
Measured end to end including the clasp, in inches.
- 16" — sits at the base of the neck
- 18" — just below the collarbone, the most common choice
- 20" — a few centimetres lower, works over a collar
- 22"–24" — mid-chest, and what most pendants are shown on
Bracelets
Measure snugly around the wrist and add roughly half an inch for a comfortable drape, more if you prefer it loose.
